Welp! It’s been a month since I shared my latest blog update about my personal finance journey. Here’s an update on where I’ve been and what I’ve accomplished.

Affiliate Marketing Blog Wins and Next Steps

As mentioned in last month’s update, The Honey Butter Tech is an affiliate marketing blog I started this year. It’s a technology blog where I share ideas and inspirations to help you build your next aesthetic desk setup. Anyways, check it out if you have time! I shared in my previous blog that this is where I was:

  • 83 total impressions and 32 monthly views on Pinterest

And a reminder that these are my 12-week goals:

  • Write a total of 20 blog posts on the website 13/20
  • Achieve 1K monthly views on Pinterest by June 19 Achieved April 16th!
  • Achieve 1K monthly visitors on the website by June 19 15/1000

Well, I’m glad to announce that as of today I’ve surpassed 1K monthly views on Pinterest! 🥳🥳🥳 Only took me 3.5 weeks to achieve this goal, putting me well ahead of my June 19th deadline.

Super stoked and proud of myself for making this achievement. I mean just take a look at the metrics below!

What’s Next?

So, that’s some super exciting stats to share. But what’s next?

And that’s my next update. I’m growing in views, but I want followers. I need people to visit the blog.

And I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, or not doing right because views on my website are SUPER low.

The only thing I can think of is the slow website responsiveness because damn every time I get directed over there it takes a fucking long time to load and I’m not sure why.

My images don’t even take that much space, I swear. Anyways, I should look at optimizing my website speed.

I also took a week-long break from writing on my blog because I was just not feeling it. But I’m planning to go back to a regular cadence after today.

Cozy x Farming Sim Newsletter Followers

The Turnip Patch is a Twitter account I started last month to share cozy games and farming sim content. It’s been really fun to do because it’s a very low-chill project where I just repost content and share my personal opinions.

Anyways, when I left off last month, I was at 6 followers on Twitter. Well, guess what?

It’s been a bit over three weeks and I’m currently sitting at 20 followers. Take a look below:

Lessons Learned and Lessons Taught

On some days I feel like I’m not getting any new followers, and then on other days within a 1-3 day period I would gain followers…and then it would go back to hearing crickets.

Right now I’m just resharing content with my personal opinion, but I’m at a point where I’m thinking…what’s the point?

How can I differentiate myself from the hundreds of similar channels out there? Should I start creating my own content (like sticker sheets, indie pixel art etc.) with my audience? These are just some of the questions I’m trying to figure out as I continue to work on this mini project.

Overall, continuing to share content consistently everyday is the number one thing helping me gain followers. That’s my lesson learned.

As a reminder, here are my 12-week goals for the Turnip Patch:

  • Achieve 500 followers by June 17 20/500
  • Post 84x by June 17 I’m removing this goal because what even is the point?
  • Gan 25 newsletter subscribers by June 17

Personal Finance YouTube or Tik Tok Channel?

Over the past few weeks, I recorded myself over 10 times for my YouTube channel but no matter which video I churn out, I didn’t like it one bit.

Plus, transferring the recording from my phone to my computer was taking too long, so it was just not worth.

But the main reason I haven’t made any progress or headway in this area is because I was scared of putting myself on YouTube. Like that’s such a power move and I’m too shy to do that.

So instead, I decided to pivot and try out on Tik Tok first.

I have five videos on there at the moment with three followers! And yes, two of them does include me talking and showing my face 😂

Embarrassing AF but hey, you gotta start somewhere. Here were the 12-week goals I shared last month:

12-week Goals for the Personal Finance Channel

  • Gain 1000 followers by June 13
  • Achieve 4,000 watch time by June 13
  • Produce 12 videos on YouTube through June 13

TBH I don’t know what they will look like for Tik Tok yet, but the goal is to finish one personal finance book each week and talk about it on Tik Tok.

Selling Digital Products on Etsy and Author Website Templates

I bought eRank two weeks ago to try it out because I wanted to research a low competition and high-search volume product idea for Etsy.

I did find out, and took some time to build it out but I haven’t gone back to finish it. Maybe in the next month or so?

I’m not sure yet, but the digital product and author website template I’m putting on hold until I figure out my game plan for The Honey Butter Tech and the personal finance Tik Tok account.

Anyways, that’s all the updates I have to share this month, bye!

At this moment, here’s how much money I’ve made through all my ventures: EXACTLY $0!!!
